2.  It creates an arguement if you should buy things from these companies or buy products that are more earth-friendly.  It adresses the conflict by creating a shoe that is earth-friendly, anti-sweatshop, and cruelty-free.

3.  The main features are that it is made out of recycled materials and made in a safe, comfortable environment.  The claim that it makes is that we should find alternatives to these kind of products and not just buy because of the name.  It adresses the environment and the safe and comfortableness of the factories.

1.  It shows that companies can make more environmentally friendly products and can become popular just like nike over time.

2.  The advertisement is designed to capture the reader’s attention with the picture of the shoe and the title Unswoosher.  The reader will know as soon as they see the ad that it is related to Nike.  It shows that these people try to create products that will hurt other companies. 

3.  The text shows the features of the shoe and shows how it is better than other shoes.  It works with the picture to show the different parts of the shoe and what makes it a better quality shoe.

4.  The attitude is that is conveyed is that they are trying to bring down the other companies by creating better products.  The logo achieves it’s message because it is an anti-logo showing that they don’t like the products and ideas of the other companies.

2.  The target audience for this ad are parents of children and young adults.  I think this is the target audience because it is telling the viewer that they need to talk to their children about drugs and alcohol while they are young to prevent them from doing these things.

3.  I think that the rhetorical appeal that is used is logos because the ad is pursuading the viewer by reasoning that if they don’t talk to their children while they are young then they will most likely participate in these kinds of activities.  It influences the audience because they want to protect their children and keep them safe.

4.  The advertising appeal that is used is the need for guidance.  It is a parent’s responsibility to teach their children what is right from wrong and this appeal influences the audience because the parents know that this is their job and they need to do it.

5.  The visual element that is used is a young, innocent girl and the ad says that one day she will be an alcoholic.  It sways the audience because most people will think that she is a cute girl that just needs to be taught what not to do and her parents aren’t doing it.  When a parent sees this girl in an ad it will probably make them think of thier own children and they will want to talk to them about this.

6.  Yes, it is assumed that there are many parents that don’t teach their children that it is wrong to drink when you are underage. 

7.  Yes, I think it would influence friends, other family members, or anyone else that comes in contact with children that they need to teach them that they need to stay away from drugs and alcohol.

8.  Yes I think this is a very effective ad.  I think that by using the picture of the young girl that it really influences the viewer that they need to do something before its too late.  It tells parents that they need to talk to their children while they are young and they will have less of a chance of having alcohol problems when they become adults.

I chose the ad against smoking called Smoke Free’s the Go.  I believe this ad targets everyone but it is targeted more towards the youth because of all the color that is used.  I think that the ad uses ethos as it’s rhetorical appeal because it shows the image of everyone having fun without smoking cigarettes.  It shows smiles on everyone’s faces to show that they are really enjoying what they are doing.  This ad uses the need to escape as its advertising appeal.  Smokers use cigarettes to escape and get relief from their busy lifestyles.  This ad shows all of the many ways you can escape and have fun without smoking.  It has no smoking symbols all over the picture such as on signs, on the character’s shirts, and all around the border.  The ad shows a guy rollerblading, someone fishing, people playing sports, and a boy walking his dog.  This poster makes the argument that you should find alternate activities other than smoking. There are many other things that you can do to have fun or get a break besides reaching for your cigarette.  It encourages you to do something good for yourself.  It also at the bottom says, “Get your heart into it.”  I believe that they are trying to show that you should be concerned about your health and should drop your smoking habit and exercise.  All of the people in the poster look to be active and like they really take care of their health.  No one is overweight or struggling to catch their breath they are all being active and having fun.  I think that this a good argument because everyone looks for relief from their stressful lives and this poster gives smokers many alternatives.  It shows smokers that they can find other things to do and still be happy.  It also shows that you should quit to take care of your health.  I believe that by showing all of the outdoor activities that it will make a smoker really think about their health and what kind of effect that cigarettes have on it. I think that this is a very successful ad.

The author wanted to connect nature with the built environment that we have today.  I think that she believes that we should continue to expand but also should preserve the environment.

To intrest others in nature and and to show that we should save the environment. Even though we have many buildings today she still wants the people to be surronded by nature.

It integrates nature and the built environment that we have today.  It shows its purpose by being placed on a roof top.

I believe that she wants people to be surrounded by nature in their working environment.  She thinks that nature should be preserved in our environment.

I think that she chose this because she has a love for nature and wants to share it with others around her.

This image shows the same idea as many other people believe to preserve the environment that we have today.

She intended the image to be of a built environment but an environment that still involves natrue.

The image has been reproduced with other things in nature but has the same general meaning as this image that we should be surrounded by nature.

2.  The reading workshop will help kids to enjoy reading because they can pick books that interest them. 

      Using the reading workshop is not a good idea for kids.

3.  It will help kids because they can choose their on books that they would enjoy.  It would help them to be entertained and they would be able to understand the text.

      It is not good for kids because they will choose books that aren’t challenging and the common body of knowledge based on literary classics will be lost.

4.  The warrant is that reading is good.

5.  If people read the classics that are assigned then there would be a common knowledge of the novels among the students.
